The Challenge
A global consulting firm wanted to reward its top-performing leaders with something they couldn't book themselves.
The attendees were seasoned travelers who had experienced luxury resorts, private dinners, and destination events around the world. The experience needed to surprise them, immerse them in the destination, and feel worthy of the achievement it celebrated.
Rather than another ballroom dinner or traditional excursion in Las Vegas, the goal was to create a day that captured the spirit of Southern Nevada while delivering the level of hospitality expected by executive guests.
The Approach
We transformed the edge of Red Rock Canyon into a luxury basecamp that served as the starting point for a day of curated adventure.
Guests arrived by luxury motorcoach from the Las Vegas Strip to a beautifully designed outdoor welcome lounge featuring shaded seating areas, hydration stations, local snacks, shaved ice, lawn games, luxury restroom facilities, and a fully staffed onsite operations and medical space.
From there, guests selected the experience that best matched their interests:
Guided hiking through Red Rock Canyon
Horseback riding
Scenic Jeep tours
Off-road adventures
Every activity operated simultaneously, requiring carefully orchestrated transportation schedules, guide coordination, safety planning, and guest communications.
As the afternoon concluded, guests returned to basecamp where the atmosphere shifted completely.
Cool towels, handcrafted beverages, and a live acoustic guitar duo welcomed them back while the team quietly transformed the space behind the scenes.
Then came the surprise.
Rather than returning to the hotel, guests were transported to a secluded desert location where a single 250-foot communal dining table stretched across the landscape beneath the canyon walls.
The evening featured elegant tablescapes with fine china, crystal glassware, custom-designed menus, desert-inspired floral arrangements, and a seasonal dinner prepared by a Michelin award-winning chef using locally sourced ingredients. As darkness settled over the canyon, a professional astronomer guided guests through the night sky with a telescope, creating an ending that felt distinctly connected to the destination.
Every element was intentionally choreographed to tell a story, from the first arrival to the final toast.
The Outcome
The experience became one of the most memorable moments of the executive retreat, delivering exactly what the client had envisioned: a program that felt authentic, elevated, and impossible to replicate.
It demonstrated how thoughtful experience design can transform an offsite into something guests remember long after they've returned home.
